The flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT) of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has welcomed Hapag-Lloyd's first China-Philippines Feeder (CPF) service.
The Tokyo Express arrived at Manila Port on March 17, marking the launch of this new service.
The CPF service connects Nansha, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, and major ports in the Philippines, promoting trade links and providing better access to regional markets for Philippine importers and exporters through reliable connections with key transshipment hubs.
This service operates in a loop between Nansha Port in China, Tanjung Pelepas Port in Malaysia, Singapore Port, Batangas Port, Manila Port, and Subic Bay Port in the Philippines, before returning to Nansha Port.
In addition to the Tokyo Express, Hapag-Lloyd has also deployed the Seoul Express to the CPF service.
In February of this year, MICT introduced eight hybrid rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes with near-zero emissions technology.
That same month, MICT announced the ongoing construction of Berth 8, designed to accommodate ultra-large container vessels with a capacity of 18,000 TEUs.
