In 1990, Fordpointer set up its branch office in Shanghai to develop business in Mainland China. Since then, Fordpointer has established branches in 10 major cities in China. In 1991, Fordpointer filed as a NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operation Common Carrier) with the Federal Maritime Commission of the United States. In addition, the company was granted the “Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers License” and the “International Freight Agency Licence” by the Ministry of Communications of the People's Republic of China.
