The company was co-founded in 1998 by James Steel, most of our team have over 30 years' experience in the industry working for both, multi-national and local companies in New Zealand. As the sole shareholder I have a very active role in the running of the company along with the development of new business.Gateway Cargo is a company that strives to provide personal and very service focused operations in New Zealand for both our clients and overseas agencies. We currently employ a staff of 9 who are all well experienced in the Shipping, Customs, and Airfreight fields. Their experience is one of our greatest assets and also a major reason for our success in the New Zealand market against the multi-nationals in all aspects of our Industry.We operate the Cargowise EDI software system within the company and all operators are well trained and fully utilize this system to the best advantage for our clients. Being a locally owned and operated business is a significant reason for our success, the flexibility to build a service that suits clients' needs rather than have the client fit the system of a larger operation is paramount. Working with strong partners at both origin and destination is something we command and work diligently on improving and developing.
