Against the backdrop of deep adjustment in the global trade pattern and the continuous warming of China-Latin America economic and trade, a landmark logistics route officially embarked on its maiden voyage on September 12th.

The launch of the direct express route from South America West (Zhangjiang-Pisco) by COSCO Shipping Special Cargo marks the official operation of China's first direct general cargo liner service to the Port of Pisco in Peru, a more efficient and stable maritime bridge between China and Latin America.

The "GREEN SUAPE", which made the maiden voyage, is a 77,00-ton multi-purpose vessel. According to the data, it is the 13th vessel of the 77,000-ton multi-purpose ship series built by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, representing the advanced level in this field. It is fully loaded with more than 30,000 tons cargo, including energy storage cabinets and engineering equipment, and is expected to arrive at the Port of Pisco in Peru smoothly in 32 days. This new route is of great, as it directly connects the key logistics nodes in China's Suzhou Port and the South American region, and also covers important ports such as Iquique in Chile and Antagasta in Chile, building a comprehensive logistics network.

In terms of route operation, the route has significant advantages. The average age of the ships on the route is only3 years, with good condition and superior performance, and is also supplemented by additional transport capacity, ensuring that one ship can be stably launched every month. Compared with the average time in the market, this route shortens the time by 5 days, effectively avoiding risks such as port congestion and detour, and can efficiently transport construction vehicles, bulk commodities heavy goods, providing more reliable and faster logistics services for cargo owners.

According to relevant sources, after the route is opened, it is expected that about 500000 DWT of general cargo will be shipped from Suzhou to the west coast of South America every year. This huge volume of cargo will greatly promote China-Latin economic and trade exchanges, promote in-depth cooperation between the two sides in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing, and inject new vitality into the China-L America comprehensive partnership.
