Wan Hai Lines has fully upgraded its former Red Sea AR2 service, now relaunched as the FM1 service, offering direct access to Mediterranean ports! This upgrade expands and optimizes the previous Red Sea route while retaining its existing port calls.
The original route included Jeddah (Saudi Arabia, SAJED), Sokhna (Egypt, EGSOK), and Aqaba (Jordan, JOAQJ), providing a solid bridge for regional trade.
The upgraded FM1 route now traverses the Suez Canal, opening a direct golden maritime corridor to the Mediterranean. New direct calls include:
Alexandria, Egypt – a key North African gateway linking the Egyptian mainland to the vast African market;
Izmit, Turkey – the industrial heart of Turkey, facilitating trade across the Black Sea region;
Istanbul, Turkey – a strategic Eurasian hub greatly enhancing regional intermodal efficiency.
The inaugural FM1 voyage from Shanghai will commence on September 12.
Upgraded Route: SHANGHAI (Y4CT Yangshan Phase IV) – NINGBO – NANSHA (NICT) – SHEKOU (SCT) – PORT KLANG (North Port) – JEDDAH (DPW) – AQABA (ACT) – SOKHNA (DPW) – ALEXANDRIA – IZMIT – ISTANBUL (Ambarli)
This milestone upgrade significantly strengthens Wan Hai Lines’ network coverage, creating an efficient logistics corridor connecting Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Customers now benefit from more flexible shipping options, shorter delivery times, and reduced logistics costs.
