Maersk has announced the appointment of Tito Okuku as Managing Director for its East Africa operations, effective May 5, 2025.
Tito brings over 25 years of leadership experience in logistics and supply chain management, having successfully led teams and operations across multiple African markets. With a strong background in strategy, business development, warehousing, landside operations, and fleet management, Tito is well-positioned to lead Maersk’s next phase of growth in the region.
In his new role, Tito will oversee Maersk’s commercial activities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and several other countries across East Africa.
This appointment marks Tito’s return to the Maersk ecosystem—he previously served as Managing Director of APM Terminals Kenya in 2014, gaining deep insight into the company’s operations.
“It is an honour to rejoin Maersk and take on this critical responsibility,” Tito said. “East Africa is a vibrant, diverse, and high-potential region. I look forward to working closely with our teams and customers to deliver resilient, agile, and customer-centric supply chain solutions that drive trade and create shared growth.”
Richard Morgan, Maersk’s Managing Director for the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa, added:
“Tito’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for our East Africa business. His proven track record, strong understanding of the region, and passion for talent development make him the right leader to drive sustainable growth and continue delivering value to our customers. We are confident that under his leadership, Maersk will strengthen its presence and partnerships in East Africa.”
