The new warehouse enables Maersk to offer comprehensive logistics services in the market, providing tailored solutions for the complex supply chain needs of customers in France.
Covering 75,000 square meters, this is Maersk’s first warehouse in France, strategically located in the Delta 3 Logistics Park in Hauts-de-France. Maersk currently operates over 40 warehouses and distribution centers across 15 European countries and more than 500 such facilities worldwide.
Aymeric Chandavoine, Executive Vice President and President of Europe Region at A.P. Moller - Maersk, said: “The inauguration of this facility, witnessed by many key partners, is not just symbolic but also a commitment to this market, to our customers in France, and to society. Maersk’s extensive warehousing and distribution network enables us to deliver world-class logistics solutions and ensures that we can meet customer needs wherever they are — now, also in France.”
The choice of Hauts-de-France reflects the region’s growing importance in the logistics sector. Since the 1990s, the area has been transitioning into a logistics hub, a shift accelerated in recent years by the development of modern transportation infrastructure — including an extensive road, rail, and air network — and its proximity to major European cities such as Paris, Brussels, and London. Today, Hauts-de-France is recognized as one of Europe’s leading logistics centers, thanks to its strategic crossroads location.
Philippe Graziani, Managing Director of Ares Real Estate, stated: “This new development, located at the heart of one of France and Europe’s recognized strategic logistics regions, serves as an economic driver by creating jobs and offering opportunities for the local community. We sincerely thank Maersk, the regional authorities, and the city council for their support and collaboration throughout the project.”
The inauguration ceremony took place on April 23, attended by numerous VIPs representing the municipal government, the Nord department, and the region, highlighting the facility’s significance to the local economy and business landscape.
The new warehouse has achieved BREEAM Very Good certification and features 85 dock doors, a beam height of 11.40 meters, a floor load capacity of 5 tons per square meter, and a 35-meter truck yard. The facility provides separate flows for heavy goods and light vehicles and is equipped with an automated dock (auto-docking system).
