January 14th, ONE released the latest notification on the “M/V ONE HENRY HUDS” incident, providing key information to all parties concerned about the vessel’s dynamics.

Previously, a sudden fire on board the “ONE HENRY HUDSON at the Port of Los Angeles had garnered widespread attention. Now, as work progresses, there have been new developments concerning the vessel.

At present, the “ONE HEN HUDSON” remains docked at YTI Terminal in the Port of Los Angeles. The drainage operation of the affected cargo hold and the unloading of damaged cargo were successfully completed January 12th, setting the stage for subsequent operations. The unloading of all remaining ship’s containers has also been scheduled to commence in the middle of this week.

In terms of general average, the information of the surveyor has been updated, with Ken Shortall taking charge of the relevant work. The surveyor will start scheduling the cargo from January 14th, and customers who wish to participate can contact him as soon as possible to coordinate a joint inspection.

There is also a clear plan for cargo. Once the containers are unloaded and the general average security and salvage guarantee procedures are completed, and other cargo retention requirements are met, the corresponding import and export carg will be arranged as follows: For import cargoes transported to/via Los Angeles and Oakland, multiple options such as local pick-up or arranging inland transportation, rail transportation etc., are provided, and clearance requirements are clarified; for export cargo, if the customer has no plan to change, ONE will continue to arrange transportation to the original destination.

Import cargo to/via Los Angeles

The cargo will be delivered to the customer at YTI Terminal in Los Angeles for local pick-up; or, according to the on the bill of lading, arrange transportation to inland destinations. The preparation for cargo pick-up will be notified to the customer separately.

Import cargo to Oakland

Import customers can pick up the cargo at Los Angeles (LAX) or ONE can transport the cargo to Oakland (OAK) by rail. If you choose to pick up the directly at Los Angeles, you need to clear customs in Los Angeles. If you choose to transport by rail to Oakland, ONE also recommends clearing customs in Los Angeles to ensure smooth coordination

Export cargo from/via Los Angeles

Unless the customer changes the transportation plan, ONE will continue to arrange the cargo to the original destination. If there is any, please contact your ONE contact.

Meanwhile, ONE recommends that customers directly contact the general average surveyor for the general average and salvage guarantee process to minimize delays in transportation.
