According to Lloyd's List, most of following recent US military intervention. The report states that despite some delays, commercial public ports handling containerized cargo have not experienced significant operational disruptions.


No new instructions or navigation restrictions have been issued by the Venezuelan maritime or port authorities. Under the ISPS Code, the security levels remain at the minimum level.


Puerto Cabello is reportedly operating normally. At the moment, container vessels are operating in the port without any significant operational difficulties. Some other vessels are waiting at anchor to berth as scheduled, and there are no reports of any abnormal delays or restrictions.


La Guaira was a target of the US military action, and the port is currently restricted. However, commercial port operations, including container business, are currently continuing and no major delays have been reported.


Overall, the situation for commercial public ports handling containerized cargo in Venezuela has remained largely unchanged. While caution is advised in the face of rapidly evolving circumstances, there have been no reports of major operational obstacles to container shipping at key ports such as Puerto Cabello and La Guaira.



It is recommended that shipowners and operators exercise caution and seek specific guidance when planning to conduct trade at Venezuelan ports. While war risk premiums have not changed as yet, an increase is expected soon.
