The unloading operation of the vessel WAN HAI 503 is being carried out under the strict supervision of a team. The container unloading work is ongoing, but the site still faces several operational challenges that require a balance to be struck between the unloading progress and pollution control.

As of October 25, the WAN HAI 503 has unloaded a total of 610 containers, with 1,112 containers remaining be unloaded.

Current Situation:

During the emergency response period, a large amount of firefighting wastewater has accumulated. Before this wastewater can be discharged further shore-based treatment, it must first undergo sampling and obtain test results.

Carbon monoxide still exists in some of the unopened cargo holds. Before the cargo can be opened, ventilation and dilution must be completed to ensure safe working conditions.

The container debris on the ship is severely damaged, and the submerged containers make lifting operation difficult and time-consuming. Mixed wastes and remaining goods need to be classified and handled separately according to their properties. In response to the on-site situation, professional team has dispatched heavy machinery and installed a large crane to accelerate the operation progress.

All operations are carried out under the close supervision and guidance of the professional team to the safety and efficiency of the operation.
