Recently, Maersk issued a notice on its official website stating that, with the fog season approaching, it will implement key operational adjustments to ensure the reliability and stability of the Dragon service.

The current port rotation for the Dragon service is: Qingdao – Ningbo – Shanghai – Hong Kong – Yantian – Sydney – Melbourne – Brisbane.

To minimize disruptions and maintain service quality and operational stability, Maersk will alternately suspend certain vessel calls at either Shanghai or Ningbo ports. This adjustment will help the carrier manage potential delays and ensure smoother operations.

According to this adjustment, the following Dragon service sailings will omit Shanghai or Ningbo ports:

Since the beginning of the month, congestion has affected multiple major ports in Asia and Europe. According to the latest report from Linerlytica, port congestion in the region has impacted nearly 10% of global container capacity. Chinese ports—especially Shanghai, Ningbo, and Qingdao—are facing a surge in vessel arrivals. Data shows that export containers at these ports now require an average wait time of 2.5 to 4 days before loading. Additionally, logistics company Kuehne+Nagel reports that nearly 100 vessels were anchored in the Shanghai-Ningbo area during the first week of the month.
