PL Shipping & Logistics Private Limited was established in the year 2001 and started operations in the month of April of the same year. Conceived as a joint venture between the 145 year old Peirce Leslie group and its current Managing Director, R. Ramkumar, PLSLL has since moved on to become an independent entity, backed by a private equity group. Riding on the crest of a strengthening economy, PLSLL started of with a turnovers of Rs.12 crore (Rs.120 million) during year of operation and has since reached a turnover which is expected to touch Rs.120 Crore (Rs.1200 million) during the year end March 2008. The internal systems have been certified by DNV under ISO 9001:2000
