Against the backdrop of the United States’ tariffs-induced adjustments in the global trade landscape, Vietnam is viewed as one of the. DHL Global Forwarding has expanded its container freight station (CFS) in Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
In light of the potential of the Vietnam market, DHL Global Forwarding has expanded its CFS in Ho Chi Minh City from 4,600sqm to 6,80sqm, while the facility in Hai Phong has a total area of 4,000sqm. The company has also increased its bonded and non-bon storage capacity.
“According to the latest DHL Global Connectedness Index Report, Vietnam is emerging as a major beneficiary of the realignment in the global trade landscape In the context of tariff hikes and rising geopolitical tensions, the growth rate of global trade volume in the first half of 2025 has reached a semi-ann high since 2010 (excluding COVID-19 years). ASEAN countries, especially Vietnam, absorbed a significant amount of displaced trade flows. Notably exports from China to Vietnam saw a significant increase, positioning Vietnam as one of the top five export destinations for Chinese goods,” said Laurence Cheung, Managing Director, DHL Forwarding Vietnam.
DHL Global Forwarding observed Vietnam’s trade pattern evolving from a traditional manufacturing hub to a transshipment hub.
