Recently, the container unloading operation of the Wanhai No. 503 cargo ship has been ongoing.
As of November 2, 2025, a total of 799 containers have been unloaded, with 923 containers remaining to be unloaded.
Currently, most of the remaining containers have shown severe deformation, melting, and other issues. During the lifting process, additional support must be added, and real-time load monitoring be implemented to ensure safety and prevent further damage or displacement of the containers.
The cargo hold structure has been damaged, and due to the long-term exposure to high, some of the container stacks and fixed structures have deformed or melted, forming large holes and uneven surfaces. It is necessary to re-plan the lifting path and take reinforced safety measures
Currently, large hydraulic clamps and heavy-duty lifting equipment are being used to move the containers. Each container needs to be positioned, separated, and lifted one by, which requires strict safety monitoring and extends the operation time.
In terms of the unloading progress, as of November 2, 2025, the number containers that have been unloaded is 799; the number of containers remaining to be unloaded is 923.
