Shipping company SeaLead announced a major upgrade to its “5CX” liner service, unveiling a new route structure to enhance operational efficiency by connecting key ports on the Far East and Mediterranean trade routes via the Suez Canal. The newly revamped weekly shipping service will be operated jointly by Sea and its partners.


The upgraded weekly service will string together major ports such as Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port Said, Ali, Istanbul, Mersin, Jeddah, and Port Klang, before returning to Qingdao. Under the new schedule, the first voyage is planned to set from Qingdao on Oct. 27, 2025.


According to the company, the upgraded 5CX liner service will offer a coverage to key areas of North Africa, the Black Sea, and the Mediterranean, besides its speed and reliability, creating a broader market entry and enhanced connectivity for customers to support the growing flows between Asia, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.


The liner service offers the following advantages:


√ Weekly direct service between China, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi, and Malaysia


√ One of the fastest transit times between the Far East and the Mediterranean


√ Seamless connection with SeaLead’s existing liner network in Asia the Mediterranean


“This adjustment reflects our commitment to strengthening global trade connections,” said Doreen Yeo, Chief Commercial Officer at SeaLead. “By re-plan the 5CX liner service, we have enhanced reliability and efficiency throughout the liner network, expanding coverage to key global markets.”


The launch of the new 5X liner service marks another step forward in SeaLead’s efforts to expand global connectivity and offer customer-centric logistics solutions on key international trade corridors.
