On September 7th local time, the Yemeni Houthi armed spokesperson Yahya Sareya claimed to have launched a largescale drone attack on Israel, targeting multiple key nodes such as strategic ports, civil airports, and military strongholds.
Yahya stated that 8 drones accurately hit the targets:
Directly hitting Israel's Ramon Airport, causing the airport to shut down and flights to be interrupted;
Attacking two sensitive military targets in thegev region;
Attacking a key facility in Ashkelon;
Attacking Ben Gurion International Airport;
Striking an important target in Ashod.
Yahya claimed that the operation successfully achieved its predetermined goals, and Israel and the United States' interception system "failed to detect and intercept multiple drones."
According to the statement from the Israeli military on the same day, the Ramon Airport near Eilat was directly hit by a Houthi armed drone.
E on the same day, the Israeli military had reported intercepting 3 drones from the Yemeni Houthi armed. It is reported that the drone that exploded did not trigger any before landing, and the Israeli military stated that this drone "was detected by the air defense system but was not classified as an enemy drone, so the interception and early warning system was activated."
The attack has caused 8 people to be injured. On the same day, the Israeli Airport Authority announced the closure of the airspace of Ramon Airport the suspension of all flights taking off and landing.
