The Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC) confirmed that it has 28 luxury vehicles linked to the Disaya family currently under its.
On Sept. 4 local time, the Disaya family surrendered an additional 16 vehicles at the compound of the San Geraldo Building General Contractor and Corporation in Pasig City, on top of the 12 cars earlier seized through a court-ordered search.
Among the vehicles were a Rolls-Roy Cullinan, a Bentley Bentayga, Mercedes Benz G-500, Mercedes-AMG G 63 AMG, Toyota Tundra Toyota Sequoia, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon Denali sport utility vehicle, and Lincoln Navigator.
The BOC said all the vehicles in have been Customs-sealed and are being guarded 24/7 by BOC and Philippine Coast Guard personnel.
The bureau is currently verifying the importation records the luxury vehicles to determine if they comply with Customs regulations. Appropriate enforcement and legal actions will be taken based on the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) discrepancies are found.
The agency said that if it is verified that the vehicles were imported in good faith and legally purchased, they will be protected by the law. However, the investigation proves that the vehicles were imported without paying the correct duties and taxes, the BOC will take the appropriate enforcement and legal actions.
The Disaya family is a clan known for its involvement in government contracts and its luxurious lifestyle.
