CMA CGM has announced the launch of the KILIMA service, connecting the Far East to Kenya, Tanzania, and the Indian Ocean, effective August 2025.
Key features of KILIMA:
- Direct weekly service from China to Kenya and Tanzania, with the first call at Mombasa on August 24, 2025.
- Efficient transshipment via Singapore, covering Asian ports from China to East Africa through Colombo, including medical shipments.
- Dedicated MALE SHUTTLE service operated by CMA CGM, transiting via Colombo, with the first departure on August 25, 2025.
- Cargo for Zambia, Tanga, Lungi, and Tamatave transported via Mombasa through KARIBU transshipment.
- Ports such as Victoria, Mogadishu, Nakala, and Comoros served via Lamu and connected through NOURA and KARIBU.
- Inland connections for Uganda, South Sudan, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This service strengthens CMA CGM’s network in East Africa, offering faster and more flexible shipping options from the Far East.
