On the 28th, in the Yangtze River waters of Nantong, Jiangsu Province, under the strict maintenance and full support of multiple coast guard vessels, a truly "giant of the sea" - the newly built 16,000 TEU series container ship "COSCO Kawasaki 424" - officially embarked on its trial voyage out of the river.

The "COSCO Kawasaki 424" is a complete achievement of the independent strength of China's shipbuilding enterprises. From the initial independent research and development, to the exquisite design concept, and then to the final construction and implementation, the entire process was independently completed by Chinese shipbuilding enterprises, highlighting China's profound heritage and strong innovation capabilities in the field of shipbuilding.

This huge ship is like a moving "castle on the sea", and all its parameters are remarkable. It is 366.99 meters long, equivalent to the length of three or four standard football fields connected end to end. The ship is 51 meters wide, just like a broad "bridge over the sea". Its deadweight tonnage is as high as 160,000 tons, and the entire vessel can carry up to 16,280 standard containers at most. Its carrying capacity is truly astonishing.

Among the numerous container ships, the "COSCO Kawasaki 424" stands out as the largest container ship capable of passing through the new locks of the Panama Canal at present. It is undoubtedly a "strongman" in the shipbuilding field, carrying the ambition of China's shipbuilding industry to go global.
