On February 27, the 8,600-vehicle dual-fuel car carrier, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), was successfully delivered after a rigorous and efficient construction process. A grand naming and loading ceremony was held simultaneously. Dubbed the "upgraded high-capacity" car carrier, this vessel not only represents a technological breakthrough but also achieves a significant leap in loading capacity, making it a focal point of the industry.

This dual-fuel car carrier impresses with its massive size and outstanding loading capacity. With an overall length of 200 meters and a beam of 38 meters, it resembles a floating automobile fortress. The vessel is equipped with 14 meticulously designed vehicle decks, accommodating at least 8,600 standard passenger cars, effectively addressing the growing demand for automobile transportation. More notably, to accommodate engineering vehicles, special equipment, and other cargo types, the ship features five adjustable decks, allowing for flexible and diversified loading solutions.

Notably, this "upgraded high-capacity" car carrier achieves a significant increase in cargo capacity while maintaining the original length and width dimensions. Through technological innovation and structural optimization, it can carry 1,600 more vehicles than its predecessor, the 7,000-vehicle dual-fuel car carrier. This achievement underscores GSI's strong capabilities in ship design and construction.

GSI has demonstrated remarkable excellence in the field of car carriers. Statistics show that the company has secured nearly 40 car carrier orders, with 13 vessels already built and delivered. The early delivery of this 8,600-vehicle dual-fuel car carrier, more than eight months ahead of schedule, sets a new record. This milestone highlights GSI’s advancements in process optimization and production equipment upgrades, bringing its construction efficiency to a world-class level.

The delivery of this "upgraded high-capacity" car carrier has earned widespread industry recognition for GSI and injected strong momentum into China's car carrier industry. Moving forward, GSI remains committed to innovation, efficiency, and high-quality development, driving China’s car carrier sector to even greater heights.
