MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company recently announced the addition of Cape Town as a direct port of call, marking a significant upgrade to the IROKO route, which is designed to create a tightly connected transport corridor between Asia, South Africa, and West Africa.

The upgraded route, with its unique independent operating model, stands out today's shipping market. It will provide robust transportation support for various sectors, including retail, solar panels, and many consumer goods industries, fully demonstrating MSC's commitment strengthening the close ties between Africa and key trading partners such as China.

The first voyage of the upgraded route, FN604A, is scheduled to call at Port of Ningbo on January 23, 2026.
