On the evening of December 15th local time, the Dutch cargo ship "Anja 1" collided with a sheet pile near the Ellinghauser Straße bridge in Dortmund, Germany. There were no reports of injuries or pollution.

The accident occurred at around 6:4 p.m. local time, when the ship was carrying scrap metal. The impact caused serious damage to the bow, resulting in cracks in the hull and water entering the bow.

Despite the damage, the ship was still able to proceed to the port of Hardenberg under its own power and dock safely there. The ingress of water the bow section caused a temporary loss of power on board.

After the accident, firefighters arrived at the scene to carry out a rescue operation for the stricken vessel. They temporary power using a generator from the fire boat, enabling the operation of the diving pump to reduce the water level inside the ship.

To further stabilize the ship, staff from port of Hardenberg used an excavator to unload the scrap metal cargo, ensuring that the damaged bow section was no longer submerged in water and preventing more water from entering

Following these measures, power supply on board was fully restored. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
